Today a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation of the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held. The event was held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
May 9, 1945 is a sacred event in the heroic history of our country. “Today our moral duty is to prevent distortion of the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War, to preserve the traditions of friendship and mutual assistance bequeathed by our fathers and grandfathers,” said Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.
As of May 1, 2024, 195 direct participants of the Great Patriotic War live in Tatarstan. “Time is inexorable, every day there are fewer and fewer veterans,” said Leila Rinatovna Fazleeva, Deputy Prime Minister of RT.
A program to improve the housing conditions of veterans has been implemented since 2008. Since then, 19,142 veterans have improved their housing conditions. More than 20 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for this purpose.
