Foreign citizens and stateless persons are not ignored by the Commissioner!
On a regular basis, my public assistant Guliya Balafendieva visits persons held in the Center for Temporary Detention of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Naberezhnye Chelny to verify compliance with their rights during detention, as well as to provide the necessary legal assistance. And today a member of my Office also went to work with her.
A reception was held, which was attended by 8 people. During the reception individual recommendations were given, appropriate to each case. Some of the received appeals were taken into consideration.
Also, with the participation of the administration, the detention facilities were inspected and interviews were held with foreign citizens and stateless persons to determine their satisfaction with the conditions of detention. No complaints about detention conditions were received during the interviews.
