Conditions of detention of persons in places of forced detention were checked
Employees of the offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan conducted a joint inspection of the conditions of detention of persons in places of forced confinement of territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan.
During three days the conditions in the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Apastovsky, Buinsky, Drozhzhanovsky and Tetyushsky districts, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Verkhneuslonsky” were checked. A familiarization visit was also made to the temporary detention center in the new building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Verkhneuslonsky” being prepared for commissioning.
Together with the staff of the institutions the following premises were inspected: cells, visiting rooms, investigation rooms, exercise yards, rooms for storage of belongings.
This inspection is one of the joint planned activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan to monitor the observance of the rights of persons held in special institutions of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Joint inspections will be carried out further in the current year.
