Visit to FCU SIZO-1 UFCIN of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan (t. Kazan)
Frequent visits to places of detention ensured that the rights of suspects and accused persons were respected.
Today an employee of the Office of the Commissioner visited the FCU SIZO-1 UFSIN of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan). The inspection also examined the conditions of detention of suspects (accused), in particular minors, with a view to respecting their rights and legitimate interests.
Together with representatives of OFCIN, cells and an educational class for minors were examined. A selective interview was held with citizens held at the facility regarding the quality of the food provided, the conditions of detention, the treatment by the administration of the facility and the provision of appropriate medical care.
During the dialogue, there were no complaints about conditions of detention in SIZO-1.
