Meeting of the Expert Council of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation on international cooperation and protection of the rights of migrants
One of the characteristic features of the institution of ombudsmen is close international and interregional cooperation, active cooperation between colleagues. Today I took part in the meeting of the Expert Council of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation on international cooperation and protection of migrants' rights.
In her speech she emphasized the importance of developing the Ombudsman’s cooperation with foreign colleagues and its necessity, she spoke about the major international events held in Kazan recently: General Assembly of the Asian Ombudsman Association and international practical conference.
It is undeniable that participation in such events creates strong links with the members of the organization and creates effective and mutually beneficial cooperation to achieve our common goal of promoting and protecting human rights and freedoms. Such cooperation could indicate that the protection of human rights should be out of politics.
As an important condition for the realization of the rights of foreign students and the performance of their duties, I have proposed the inclusion in the section of the report on the development of legal literacy of foreign nationals in legal education.
