From year to year, the most exciting period for children and their parents is entry into educational organizations, from pre-school to higher education.
Since the beginning of the reception campaign and the staffing of kindergartens, I have received appeals from citizens regarding admission to pre-school organizations and schools. We, using all legal protection mechanisms, together with the education departments, try to provide possible assistance to citizens in enrolling their children in the desired educational organizations.
Each appeal received by us is considered individually.
The other day I received an appeal from a citizen of G., with a request to assist in the placement of the child in the school in the place of residence, and also reported on a possible violation of the order of admission to the school. In the course of our review, it was found that due to the lack of space, the applicant was refused admission of the child. The Education Authority offered the applicant other school options, which are far from the applicant’s home.
At the same time, the complainant was informed that the child has health problems, needs regular medication and special nutrition, which in turn requires increased control and attention not only from the educational institution, but also his parents during his stay in the educational organization. Teaching a child in a school in another locality would cause considerable inconvenience to parents.
On my instructions, an employee of the Office of the Commissioner today went to an educational institution. As part of the visit, the staff of the Office of the Commissioner studied the local and administrative acts of the school governing admission procedures and the objectivity of its organization. No breaches of intake procedures.
At the same time, I would like to inform you, dear friends, due to the vacancies in the class, the child was enrolled in the first grade.
