Appeal decided positively
The Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the issue of social protection of citizens.
Providing citizens with technical means of rehabilitation is a right guaranteed by the State. Therefore, the most important task is to increase the accessibility of services to provide persons with disabilities with technical means of rehabilitation, as well as their timely and high-quality provision, taking into account the individual needs of the person with disabilities.
Technical means of rehabilitation are a wide range of special products designed to facilitate the life of a citizen with disabilities.
For example, I was approached by a citizen of A, a resident of the Kaybic district of Tatarstan, asking for assistance in providing technical means of rehabilitation - corset.
In her communication, the complainant stated that the technical means of rehabilitation should have been available as early as February 2023. Her repeated appeals to the territorial bodies of the social insurance fund were unsuccessful.
Having examined all the circumstances of this petition, We sent a letter to the Managing Director of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan to take immediate steps to provide the applicant with the necessary means of technical rehabilitation.
Just yesterday, the author of the appeal, having called my reception, informed that the issue was resolved and she was provided with a technical means of rehabilitation, which she had been waiting for since February 2023.
