Although it has been some 40 years since HIV infection was discovered around the world, scientists have been able to study the virus, determine its origins, and develop therapies that allow people living with HIV to live a full life, unfortunately, the disease remains relevant. The most dangerous thing about this situation is that so many people don’t know about their HIV status.
Today the representative of the Commissioner took part in the «round» table «Test for victory. Help near»: results and plans», dedicated to summarizing the three-year work of the ABNO «New Age» project on the prevention of socially significant diseases, providing access to testing and medical servicesHIV-related social support and reducing the stigmatization of HIV/AIDS.
With the support of the Commissioner of ABNO «New Age», she won the contest of the Presidential Grants Fund in 2020 with the project «Test for Victory», which was highly appreciated and approved by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova.
The main objective of the project was to ensure human rights by providing the population of 9 regions of the Russian Federation with free prevention, testing and medical servicesSocial support in connection with the human immunodeficiency virus in the full cycle through the work of multidisciplinary teams on «Test-mobiles» and medical consultation of employees of the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan.
More than 60,000 people took part in the activities of the project, more than 16,000 people were tested for HIV infection, 540 visits of multidisciplinary teams to «Test-mobiles», more than 95,000 informational, advisory, legal, social, health services.
