Participation of the Commissioner in the regular General meeting of the European Institute of Ombudsmen in Bucharest

Today, the regular General meeting of the European Institute of Ombudsmen, one of the largest human rights organizations in the world, is taking place in the coat of armorial hall of the Landtag Rhineland-Palatinate in Bucharest, Romania.

The President of EIO BurgiVolgger opened the meeting; with a welcome speech by the Minister of justice of the Federal land Reyland-Palatinate Dr. Gerhard Robbers, stressing the relationship of the activities of ombudsmen with the justice sector. The agenda includes such issues as hearing and approval of the reports of the President and Secretary General of the EIO, elections of members of the Board of the EIO, as well as discussion of refugee issues relevant to modern Europe and other issues.
