Working visit to South Korea

The Commissioner for Human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Sariya Saburskaya will be in South Korea on a working visit from the 16th to the 19th of May, 2017.

The main purpose of visit is to take part in the General Assembly meeting of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA), including Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of the AOA.

Tatar Ombudsman read out a welcoming speech from the Commissioner for Human rights in the Russian Federation, T.N. Moskalkova. Tatyana Moskalkova stresses on relevance of AOA networking in the modern context. Nowadays fight against terrorism, environmental degradation, law-skirting actions of using Information Technology pursuing illegal purposes are prior problems of modern society and all countries.

On May 17 Sariya Saburskaya participates in the 2017 PyeongChang Global Ombudsman Conference. Discussing issues are devoted to cooperation between Ombudsmen, different practical trainings and opportunities of sharing experience with those countries where human rights institutions have not yet been created.

On May 18 the Conference will continue the session №. 2. Ombudsmen will discuss the work with personal public complaints and appeals handling as well as citizen petitions concerning key social problems.
