17 October 2025, Friday

The Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, declared 2026 the Year of Military and Labor Valor in Tatarstan. This decision is deeply meaningful – it recognizes the courage of those who defend the Motherland today and respects the people whose daily work provides a solid foundation for our country.

Throughout the work of the Commissioner's Office, we are seeing an increasing number of inquiries from participants in the special military operation and their family members. More and more questions are related to perpetuating the memory of those who fell. Rustam Nurgalievich emphasized this, noting that monuments to participants in the special military operation are being erected, schools are being named after them, and memorial sites are being created. This demonstrates that the memory of our defenders is becoming a part of society and the upbringing of the younger generation. It is crucial that this topic is currently at the forefront of the republic's leadership.

Particular attention is currently being paid to the families of military personnel and measures for their social support. The branch of the State Foundation "Defenders of the Fatherland" in the Republic of Tatarstan plays a significant role, actively assisting Special Military Operation participants and their families, and providing assistance in resolving social and legal issues. The participation of public organizations, volunteers, and concerned residents of the republic also plays a significant role, providing tangible assistance to Special Military Operation participants and their families. Today, Tatarstan actively sends humanitarian aid to the special military operation zone, and it is this national unity and concern for the defenders of the Fatherland that is reflected in the decision of the Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan to declare next year the Year of Military and Labor Valor.

The establishment of a new award, "Kind Tatarstan," is also of particular significance. This is a sign of gratitude to those who selflessly do good and who, by their example, strengthen the traditions of compassion and human compassion. It is precisely from such actions that the strength and dignity of our society are formed.
