The appeal was resolved positively!

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from citizen K., who reported the lack of lighting on the pedestrian sidewalk near school No. 132 in Kazan. The problem concerned the safety of children and residents of the area, especially in the evening.

After checking the information, the employees of the Office found that the section of the sidewalk was indeed not properly lit. Despite the presence of supports, the light from one of the lamps was blocked by a tree, and part of the path remained in the dark.

In order to protect the rights of the citizen, we sent a corresponding appeal to the Executive Committee of the city of Kazan with a request to eliminate the problem.

Thanks to our appeal, the situation was resolved. An inspection of the lighting equipment was carried out, the switching machines were checked, the angles of the lamps were adjusted and two lamps were replaced. Now the lighting on the sidewalk meets the regulatory requirements of state standard.
