Meeting of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan on Social Issues, Charity and Development of the Non-Profit Sector

Orphans and children left without parental care need support for successful adaptation in society after graduation from state institutions. They often face difficulties when they enter secondary vocational and higher education institutions. It is important to provide them with the necessary resources and assistance for socialization and success in their studies and future professional activities.

Earlier the commission inspected 4 dormitories of educational institutions of Kazan, where 59 orphans and children without parental care live. In addition, representatives of public councils visited dormitories of educational institutions in 17 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, where 351 children of this category live.

Today an employee of the Office of the Ombudsman took part in a meeting of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan on social issues, charity and development of the non-profit sector, dedicated to the issue of housing and living conditions of orphans and children without parental care, and persons from their number living in dormitories of professional educational organizations.
During the meeting it was noted that the dormitories of Kazan Medical College, Kazan Pedagogical College, Kazan College of Technology and Design have the necessary conditions for study and accommodation of students.
At the same time, in the dormitory of the Kazan Trade and Economic Technical College a number of remarks on the application of sanitary norms and rules were revealed.

These remarks and proposals to resolve the situation have been communicated to the representatives of the educational institution. The work in this area will be continued.
