Elections in Tatarstan are going actively! By 15:00, almost a quarter of voters had cast their ballots in the republic.
✅ A staff member of the Commissioner's Office worked today in the public observation center at the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan and monitored the voting process at polling stations via videoconference. No human rights violations were revealed during the video monitoring.
Voting in the detention center No. 1 in Kazan was also held with the participation of a human rights defender. No complaints or comments were received.
✅ We would like to remind you that the Office of the Commissioner has been running a telephone hotline on issues related to the protection of citizens' electoral rights for all three days. At the moment (15.03.2024 at 18.00) we have received about 30 calls. The questions, in most cases, required clarification of this or that situation: Tatarstan citizens asked what address their polling stations were located, asked for assistance in voting at home, asked questions about the work of polling stations, etc. There were no complaints about violation of citizens' electoral rights.
