1 February 2024, Thursday

We open field trips to penal institutions with FGI PC-19 of the DFPS for the Republic of Tatarstan

In the format of a “round table” together with representatives of the DFPS of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Republic of Tatarstan, the FPHI “MCH No. 16” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the Republican Clinical Narcological Dispensary Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan organization of relatives of drug addicts “Faith” discussed the issues directly related to the project of rehabilitation units in the FGI PC-19. Such meetings are necessary not only to discuss successes, but also to identify problematic issues that undoubtedly need to be overcome together. Thanks to our conversation, it became clear in which direction to continue working.

In order to get acquainted with living conditions of convicts participating in the program of rehabilitation of convicts with addiction to narcotic drugs and psychoactive substances, we visited the rehabilitation unit, where all necessary conditions for living and rehabilitation are created. During the conversation with the project participants there were no complaints about the conditions of detention, all those present expressed hope for successful rehabilitation.

They also held a joint reception, to which inmates addressed with questions requiring clarification of the current legislation, direct attention of the Commissioner and employees of the DFPS of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan. The questions were related to obtaining pensions, replacement of the sentence of imprisonment with forced labor and others. At the end of the reception I take some of the appeals under my personal control.
