Final meeting of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan
Today the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the final meeting of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan of the 6th convocation.
Special attention was paid to the health issues of convicted and remand prisoners. In particular, the problems of access to medical care, provision of necessary medicines and the possibility of medical examinations were discussed. It was also proposed to work actively in penal correctional institutions and pre-trial detention centers during the upcoming presidential elections.
The issues of adaptation units for addicted convicts were discussed separately. During the meeting, various aspects of the work of the Public Supervisory Commission were considered, including interaction with the authorities, public organizations and the media. They also discussed the preparation and implementation of events aimed at raising public awareness of the rights and freedoms of convicts. The participants expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation in the field of protecting the rights and freedoms of convicts.
