Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on inter-ethnic and interfaith relations
The Council of the Republic of Tatarstan for Inter-ethnic and Interfaith Relations was held today.
The territory of Tatarstan for many centuries is a place of peaceful residence and creative cooperation of Tatars, Russians, Chuvash, Udmurts, Mari, Mordva and representatives of many other peoples.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the advantage of our country is rich ethnocultural and linguistic diversity, unity of all peoples Care for representatives of each people living in the republic is the basis of our unity. Special attention is paid to ensuring the rights of citizens to preserve and develop their native languages, cultures and traditions. This was fully facilitated by the Year of National Cultures and Traditions. Efforts of the whole society have been united on the priority solution of ethno-cultural development issues», - said Rais of the Republic.
Our Republic pays great attention to creating the necessary conditions for satisfying the spiritual needs of the population: appropriate infrastructure is being developed and a number of programme measures are being implemented.
As noted by Rais Tatarstan, more than 80% of Tatarstan residents have a positive opinion of the state of interethnic and interfaith relations.
