On the agenda of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan today - implementation of measures to improve road traffic safety in the Republic of Tatarstan, reduce road accidents and reduce the severity of their consequences.
In the 11 months of 2023, 3,076 accidents were registered on the roads of the Republic of Tatarstan, in which 250 people died and 3,674 were injured. Compared to the same period last year, there was a decrease in the main accident rates: the number of accidents - 5 (for 11 months 2022 - 3,081), the dead - 35 (for 11 months 2022 - 285), the injured - 120 (for 11 months 2022 - 3,794). The Republic of Tatarstan is among the regions of the Volga Federal District, which have the best rate of reduction in the main accident indicators in recent years. Chief State Inspector of Road Traffic Safety in RT Rustem Garipov said that the main accidents in Tatarstan - car collisions and pedestrian collisions. In addition, the winners of the republican competition on road traffic safety mobile application in the service «I - schoolboy» were awarded.
It should be noted that in the system of "People’s Control" for the purpose of public control in the areas of road safety and land improvement, raising the level of legal awareness and responsibility of road users, Improving road safety in the Republic of Tatarstan also has a separate category - "Organization of road traffic". In total for 11 months of the current year there were received 4505 notifications of citizens.
The issues concern the poor state of road signs and markings on public roads; the optimization of traffic patterns used, the placement of signs and humps, pedestrian crossings, road markings, information on traffic lights and other traffic management problems.
