Today, the State Council held a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy, at which parliamentarians summed up the monitoring of the republican law on quotas and job reservation for the disabled and citizens in special need of social protection, and also considered the draft law on amending the republican law on targeted social support of the population. In addition, the deputies summed up the results of the committee’s work in 2023 and discussed the plan for the coming period.
As Svetlana Zakharova, Chairman of the Committee for Social Policy noted, The Republic’s Law on Job Quotas for People with Disabilities was monitored in order to assess the effectiveness of its implementation and to develop measures to improve it.
According to information from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection, in 2020 a quota of 1,029 jobs was set for 302 persons with disabilities; in 2021,836 jobs were allocated to 332 persons with disabilities; In 2022, a quota of 1,006 jobs was set for 393 employers who employed 590 persons with disabilities.
As of 1 November 2023, in Tatarstan, the number of employed persons with disabilities in organizations with 35 or more employees is 5,569, out of a projected quota of 7,676 jobs. Currently there are 1649 vacant jobs, information about them is placed on the portal «Work of Russia».
Today, at a meeting of the committee, a bill on amending article 8 of the Republic Law on targeted social support of the population was considered. As noted by the Deputy Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan Clara Tazedinova, the adoption of this law is connected with the need to bring the republican legislation in accordance with the federal legislation.
