Thematic meeting of the Expert Council of the Commissioner was devoted to the observance of human rights in places of detention and short stay
It is coming to the end of 2023, and this means that traditional activities have already started for the preparation and writing of the report on the observance of human and civil rights and freedoms in the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 23 October, a thematic meeting of the Expert Council of the Commissioner on current issues of improving legislation on human and civil rights and freedoms and legal education was held, Interaction of the Ombudsman’s Office with public authorities and civil society institutions.
Today the thematic meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner was devoted to the observance of human rights in places of detention and short stay. I am sure that the proposals made during the meeting of the Expert Council will not only be taken into account by the Council members, but will qualitatively complement the draft report of the Commissioner with concrete proposals to improve the situation of observance and protection of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person and a citizen in the Republic of Tatarstan.
