Participation in OSCE activities

Today 3 April, the commissioner for human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Sariya Saburskaya takes part in the 17th Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference “trafficking in children and the best interests of the child”, the event was organized by OSCE Office of the Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings. The event takes place in Vienna.

Participants in the 17th Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference will discuss threat of trafficking in children in a crisis environment, as well as the effectiveness of systems for the protection of children in the context of countering this crime. Tatar Ombudsman participates in Session 1 "threats of human trafficking for children in crisis, where rapporteurs are scheduled to debate possible situations that directly or indirectly threaten the security and well-being of children in the OSCE region. The speakers will touch upon the most common threats associated with trafficking in children in crisis situations, as forced labour, sexual exploitation, early (forced) marriage, organ removal, begging and criminal activities. Special attention will be paid to “the children on the road”. Including unaccompanied minors and children internally displaced children.

The commissioner for human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan is involved in this event at the invitation of OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Madina Jarbussynova, who visited Kazan on February 10-11 this year.
