Ildar Khalikov: We should improve forms of work on protection of rights and legal interests of our citizens

31 January 2017, Tuesday

On January 31, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov took part in a session of the expert council under the Commissioner for human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan (Korston hotel, Kazan).

The Ombudsman Sariya Saburskaya informed that 3549 appeals of citizens were registered in 2016. Most of them concerned housing rights.

Another urgent problem is still late payment of wages. According to Saburskaya, the total amount of wages payable makes 12 mln 600 thousand roubles.

7503 enforcement proceedings for the sum of 205,5 mln roubles were executed in 2016 in the republic. 52 criminal cases related to wage arrears, scholarships, and benefits have been opened. Moreover, citizens complain about building defects in houses built under social mortgage programme. The Ombudsman offered to punish unfair companies and do not allow them to participate in state contracts.

“Tatarstan President required from the Ministry of Construction to inspect all commissioned houses within 30 days. This work should be done on a regular basis not only after receiving citizens’ appeals,” Ildar Khalikov said.

Saburskaya informed that 1477 foreign citizens are liable to administrative expulsion from the Russian Federation.
